All refinishers are required to have a C-4 painter’s license to work in Nevada. We are properly licensed with the Nevada State Contractor’s Board, we put our licensing number on every estimate and invoice but you can use the Nevada State Contractor’s Board website to research if the contractor you are interested in using is licensed properly. http://www.nvcontractorsboard.com/

Refinishing a tub takes approximately 3-5 hours depending on the condition of the surface

All reglazed surfaces should be cleaned with a non-abrasive mild cleanser. We recommend Dow Scrubbing Bubbles, Mr Clean or Fantastic. The newly reglazed surface and your grout lines will be sealed (if tile is reglazed), leaving a surface that is non-porous and resistant to mold, mildew and dirt. This surface will only require light cleaning with a mild detergent such as the ones recommended. No scrubbing or scouring will be needed.

Yes, reglazing, resurfacing, refinshing are all one of the same.

With regular care and maintenance the new finish can last 10 years or more, which is the same as a brand new tub.

Yes! We have a “green” VOC compliant coating that is available. It does not deplete the ozone layer, emits a lower odor when applied and is 50% more impact resistant over conventional coatings. Contact us for more information on low VOC coatings.

No. With refinishing, we can change the surface to any color desired, regardless of the original tub color. We even carry a faux granite stone finish coating that looks amazing on countertops and tile.

No. The material we use is more of a coating than paint. As a matter of fact, it is very difficult for an untrained eye to tell the difference between a new tub, and one refinished by Tubby’s.

For bath fixtures, we fix cracks, rust, scratches, chips, dull spots, pits and any discoloration. The Surface Doctors can also make kitchen countertops with chips, burns, knife cuts and scratches look like new. Contact us for pricing on repairs.

Yes! We can repair almost any crack in a fiberglass tub or shower. There are several options. We can do a structural fiberglass repair and refinish the area to match. We can also install a custom waterproof inlay that can be permanently affixed to your tub or shower floor. We also correct any “sponginess” or “flex” that caused the crack in the first place, so it doesn’t happen again. Contact us for pricing on repairs and/or inlays.

No it’s not. Anyone that even hints that it is porcelain is deceiving you. To duplicate a porcelain finish the fixture needs to be fired in a kiln at 2500 degrees- not practical in a home! It’s a synthetic which when applied hardens to a beautiful high gloss porcelain-like luster. Tubby’s formula is a unique process developed specifically for bathtubs. It is laboratory tested to meet the highest standards of product performance and quality. Our long list of satisfied customers proves that claim and guarantees your complete satisfaction.

You should wait until you have completed all of your construction steps, we are always the last trade involved in the project.

Yes! We can install a new drain insert that fits over most existing openings. It will look and perform like brand new! We offer chrome, oil rubbed bronze, brushed nickel and polished brass (gold), please contact us today for pricing on drain inserts.

Absolutely not. DIY kits are limited in strength and durability. Most kits are rolled or brushed on giving an unsightly amateur result. Some are sprayed on with aerosol cans, which cause uneven coverage, drips and “rough” dry spray. The desired “mirror-like” finish can only be achieved by trained and certified technicians using professional spray equipment and premium materials like that of Tubby’s.

Besides bathtubs we offer a variety of refinishing services for almost any surface in your bath or kitchen including tile, sinks, counter tops and vanities. Click our gallery link to view some examples of our work.

Our reglazing process works on a variety of counter top surfaces, including Formica, tile, and cultured marble. It also saves you money with our soray-stone imitation stone finishing system. You can have that natural-stone look for a fraction of the cost of marble or granite!

New bathtub manufacturers, like Kohler and American Standard, typically offer only one year warranties against manufacturer defects. Here at Tubby’s we take pride in our work and offer a five-year warranty for full reglazing in personal residential homes Our warranty covers workmanship, peeling, and product failure in bathtubs, showers, vanities, sinks, and enclosure walls. Are you or a family member having trouble stepping in and out of the bathtub? We understand how concerning this can be whether it is an issue you are experiencing yourself or if it is affecting the life of a loved one. Instead of having to do a full remodel of a bathroom, please take a look at a cost-effective alternative. Installation of a Clean Cut Step is a simple three-step process. We will prep the tub, making sure the area is clean and masked off to catch debris and dust as the work is completed. With that completed, the tech will check the measurements and then cut out the area of the tub marked for the installation of the safety step. Finally, the tech will clean the area once more before installing the step into the tub. As a courtesy, our techs will also install a non-skid traction treatment to the bottom of the tub. This texture will help break up the water in the tub and aid in getting into and out of the newly converted tub. There are a few options for you to choose from for your new safety step.

Absolutely! A slip resistant surface can be installed to the floor of your tub while it is being refinished. It is a built-in textured finish that is installed under the new finish of the tub. It makes standing up in the tub a lot safer and looks like part of the surface. Contact us for pricing on our traction treatment slip resistant surfaces.
